Brooklands Museum in Weybridge has applied to fell ten trees at its Brooklands Road site, all of which are either subject to a Tree Preservation Order or located within a conservation area.

The application, submitted by arboricultural agent Dawn Grinsell of Advanced Tree Services Ltd on behalf of the museum, proposes felling works across a range of species on grounds of disease, structural defect, or death.

The ten trees listed in the application are:

— T1: A birch described as dead and rotting at the base, to be felled to ground level. — T2: A dead birch, to be felled to ground level. — T3: A tri-stem sweet chestnut, with the dead stem to be felled. — T4: A sycamore with a large target canker, to be felled at one metre. — T5: A sycamore stem exhibiting sooty bark disease, to be felled. — T6: A twin sycamore with a large cavity at the base, to be felled to ground level. — T7: A tri-stem sycamore, with the dead marked stem to be felled. — T8: A dead twin elm, to be felled to ground level. — T9: A multi-stem sycamore near a tunnel, presenting tear wounds at the base, to be felled to ground level. — T10 (T223): A thuja behind the administration block, described as having sparse foliage and dead bark, to be felled to ground level.

The museum is identified as the owner of all ten trees. The application is supported by a sketch plan showing the position of the trees on site.
